Rudolph the Red Nose Deer thingy-um-bob...

This is what I have been doing since Thursday morning at 3:30am... well, I take that back...since Friday morning about 4am... Thursday I woke up at 3:30am, could barely swallow, it felt like someone was tightening a belt around my ribcage and pulling... I tried water, milk, OJ...finally some hot green tea soothed things enough for me to do shot of Nyquil and get to sleep for a few hours... when alarm went off at 7am... I called in sick sounding pretty gruff... I laid in bed until about 11... got up and showered and felt worse... so I dragged my ass to the doc in a box and spent two hours getting blood test, H1H1 test... blood pressure was high and pulse was racing, so that led to EKG.... had Xray... showed accute bronchitis with what looked to be the beginnings of pnuemonia...WTF!  Got antibiodics and cough medicine... went to Kroger got OJ, came home...crawled in bed and there I stayed until about 6 in the evening when Jeff got home from work... I felt like ass... Jeff fixed a quick dinner and for the first time all day I logged on my computer for two seconds, then sat and watched one episode of Bones... I was done... in bed by 9...thinking I would feel better Friday morning, boy was I wrong... drugs had kicked in and the snot faucet started running... I was still feeling achy and starting to hack and cough... I called in sick again and crawled back in bed... only for a little bit, then got up and started some work from home and since the weather was nice... opened windows in hopes of clearing out the air a bit... was nice, but still the coughing and runny nose were a pain... I did have a couple of drinks when our friend Stacy stopped by... but after that, Jeff and I were in bed pretty early... this morning the coughing and sneezing and acheness came back...I actually moved to the sofa so I would quit waking jeff every 5 minutes...

Today I got off to a very slow start as Jeff and my brother started on getting mulch for the yard... three loads all together...and in the end, Jeff moved most of it... I was not too helpful in the morning, the afternoon, Jeff would move it and would rake it... I think getting out in the sun and moving around for several hours may have helped...as did the spicey hot onion soup Jeff made for dinner tonite...yummy!!!  And get this, it is a Saturday night and I am going to bed with having had one cocktail and before 11pm!!! I have not done that on a Saturday in a long time... especially if we have been out in the sun working in the yard... but need to put the health foot forward since I am driving to Maryland tomorrow afternoon and stay until Tuesday for work... arghhh... this means I will have been out of the office for over a week... but anyway... that is what snotty nose ass has been doing the last few days... likely will have more frequent posts once I am completely back to normal (which is not saying much).  TTFN!!  I am getting another cup of water and heading to bed!

And a BIG thanks to my man Jeff for dealing with my whiny, coughing, sniffiling ass... I love you!

If Jeff knows how to make home-made chicken soup, ask him to make it. It's "comfort" food, and it's called Jewish penicillin for a reason: it helps, and it tastes good! Also, if you don't already have a vaporizer, get one. There is a Vicks liquid that you can pour into the water that goes in the vaporizer. Use it. Also get Vicks VapoRub and smear it on your chest. It brings up the phlegm and makes it easier to breathe (and get a good night's sleep). Hugs & hope you feel better.

We seem to be resonating; I have a lot of the same symptoms. So I empathize!
Would you send Jeff over though?

It's good that they discovered your bronchitis just in time. If not treated, it can turn into a severe pneumonia and keep you sick in bed for weeks.

Removing Independent candidate Ralph Nader, who draws 2 percent of the vote, widens the Kerry-Edwards lead to three points with 49 percent of the vote versus the incumbent’s 46 percent. Four weeks ago the Republican ticket, coming out of a successful convention in New York, enjoyed an 11-point lead over Kerry-Edwards with Bush pulling 52 percent of the vote and the challenger just 41 percent.

Now, let's dig into it just a bit further, as the mythology of Santa Claus has a long and interesting history. First off, Santa's proper name is Saint Nicholas, though he's picked up a lot of nicknames throughout the years, including Kris Kringle, Father Christmas and Sinterklaas.
