Godfrey's is a great place to dance the night away or take in their famous Drag Brunch on Sunday mornings. A must for any visitor or local.
Fielden's is one of the few Private Clubs left in Virginia. Open late on the weekends, this place is a good place to go when you want to keep getting your groove on late night style or just hang out and have a few drinks after hours. You must be a member to get in or be with a member. From time to time there are special events that are open to public.

General advice from some experience and not directed to anyone in anyway (I gave up giving specific advice a long time ago): An apology for being bitchy goes a long way on both sides of the fence. I think it's equivalent to a reset and it's nice to hear and easy to say 'sorry'
