So we finally got the keys today to the new place... I
was am starting to get into the moving panic mode... and the big reason why is because we were supposed to get keys last weekend and were going to start moving stuff over, but the previous tenants have really had a run of bad luck lately and were delayed until today in getting everything out... which I have started to stress because there is some storm out in Arizona that has the makings for a snowstorm in Richmond... initially they were saying just "friday snow"... well our movers were to be here around 9ish Friday morning... as the week progressed, I could not wait and we called to reschedule them to be here at 7:30am as the forecasters were narrowing it down to late Friday, sometime after noon...ughhh!!!... In the meanwhile, there was only one room of the house that the owner had to have painted because it was a new baby room and it was a girl.. and there was wallpaper... so that got done today, then tomorrow there is some work being done to the bathroom (and this bathroom is going to be a blog post all in itself, just picture the 50's)... so anyway, went my coworker and I went to pick up keys and hand over the check... the place was not exactly clean... you know how it is when you move all your shit and think "damn! where did all this dust and dirt come from?"... well that was this place... the obivious look was on my face, but hell, we are getting in early and the previous tenants were doing their best with their life going nutzo... so I cringed and opened the fridge... they for got to empty the fridge... so the owner called the guy, said he would be by around 6 tonite to clean it out... I stopped at the house after work at 5 and it had already been done AND he apparently felt a bit bad and cleaned up a little, not a lot, but at least it was something... my boss gave me the go ahead to leave at lunch tomorrow and my dear, lifesaver friend Joe has volunteered to help me clean the place good before we get too much of our shit in there... then when Jeff get out of work tomorrow we will move more of the things we forgot to put on the movers list so we dont get charged more... ughhh I could go on and on, but anyway... I feel the house will be good for us... and with any move there will be problems... but for now, it looks as if the snow will not start until late Friday and go through Saturday...6 or mor inches... giggle... which is fine... we are both off through Tuesday so we can unpack... get drunk watching Grammy's (if cable gets connected) and just take it easy and break in the new place... I am sorry there are no pics yet, but I will take some tomorrow and througout the move... dont know when I will post next, but we will see... wish us luck... and pray to the snow gods that we get snow, just after 5pm on Friday... I think that will be enough time...
Toodles Poodles...
Take a breath and relax...it'll all work out just fine.
Best of luck to you both.

there is only a bit of rain here in Arizona, hardly a storm, so not to be worrying.

Best of luck making it before the storm! That big snow storm didn't send that much to Cali when it was here. It was nothing. Of course by then it can itensify...

Well, yeah, that pretty much describes the experience. You're not the only one who hates moving if that's any comfort for you, the last time I moved I didn't hire any movers and all my furniture is scratched so it wasn't quite the ideal moving day for me. I've learned my lesson. I hope your moving day pays off and that you feel great in your new place.
