It has been decided...

On July 18th of this year I will be turning the big 4-0.... yup, I am just that old and lately have been feeling it as stress and lack of exercise have taken their toll on my body... soooo... Jeff and I were talking this weekend and discussion of what I wanted for my 40th... I mean it is a milestone... if I make it to July 18th I will have made it 10 years longer than I thought my partying ass would have made it....Yeah, I was a big ole drunk in my 20's and would do some stupid shit.... but, with that said... Jeff and I realize that we are both more fun and even more sexual when we have gotten into our gym rountines... we feel better and feel frisky... sooooooo... what I want for my 40th is to go to Southern Decadence... but here is the catch... it is Labor Day weekend and I turn 40 in July... so our pack with each other is to shift our weight around, maybe even lose a few pounds along the way... Once we get moved into the new place and get settled in, we are going to start hitting the gym... eating better or at least watch what we eat more... and on July 18th if we have improved our bodies and our minds (and if we can afford it) we will sit down at the computer, cocktail in hand and book everything for a trip to New Orleans in September... so BrettCajun, get ready... you will have to show us

So I am depending on you, my fellow blog readers, to hold my feet to the fire... if I post pictures and I look like I am porking up, call me on it.... I really want Jeff and I to be able take our shirts off and walk the streets of New Orleans next to Brett and not look fat and out of shape... cuz we know Brett has been working that bod of his (and we want to work it too, tee hee)... Southern Decadence is one of those things I have always wanted to do... I have been to a Pride Celebration in San Francisco... now I just need Southern Decadence, a trip to Key West, Mardi Gras and The 4th of July with the Boston Pops... maybe I can knock them all out before I turn 50...

Porking up. Hehehehe. Please.
Always good to have goals to work toward...it keeps us alive, honest, and energized. And, furthermore, you need to consider Bear Week sometime in Provincetown.

That is a great goal to work toward. You have been pushing me (passively) toward my goal for the last 6 months, and I'll be happy to help push you towards yours.

Never fear Babe-- my forties were my best decade ever-And have had a few decades since-- At long last had my poop together- and a job which I was good at and liked ( note-- not loved) enough cash and time to travel and see the world- A good solid relationship ( still going after 48 years)Even if I'm an old fart- life is still good and enjoy looking at naked guys---AND remembering-- now get out there and shake those tits!
Cheers

Once upon a time my Ex took me to see the Boston Pops on the 4th of July. He booked the Acela train from NJ to Boston. He booked a hotel room & he called ahead & had a picnic lunch basket prepared. It was the BEST 4th of July I ever had. Kelly, Go To Boston This Year! You'll love it! & Keith Lockhart isn't getting any younger, either. I had an amazing 4th of July that year, and I'll remember it forever. Do it this year. Get the hotel, book the train ride (If Acela is available, it's that much faster.) It was phenomenal. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed. It's just Awesome, and you should experience it live with all the people around and all the noise and the cannons during the 1812 overture... You won't regret it. It will be one of the milestones in your life. DO IT!

That's a great goal - you'd feel great about your body and look great!

you are a sensible man to watch your physique now prior to reaching 40 - it gets more challenging thereafter. Get going now on good eating habits, so you won't have to modify them later on.

As an added incentive to come to Boston this year for the 4th of July, we're hosting a softball tournament that weekend. SO in addition to the Boston POPS, you'll be treated to a bunch of visiting softball players.
Just a thought...

Oh my Gawd... we can have a TRASHY OLD TIME in New Orleans for Southern Decadence.
It'll be hot... so you'll have to go shirtless for sure. I'll let you know if you are looking too plump.
I look forward to seeing you and Jeff in person. TRUST ME... New Orleans is WAY more liberal and trashy than San Francisco.

Having a goal, or at least an event to work toward, makes working out more enjoyable. Good luck!

I've been to Southern Decadence. You'll LOVE it! It's a blast! Actually, I spent my 40th there, my 50th there, and planning on spending my 60th there. Damn I'm old! But I love New Orleans!
